Trevor Clay Memorial Grants

Grants are available for practical research, the results of which should be immediately applicable and beneficial to people with a lung disease. Applications are particularly welcome from all healthcare professionals for any sum up to £15,000 and may include costs for start-up projects and professional development including funding for MSc and PhDs.

There is currently one grant round a year and applicants are requested to complete a detailed application form which is evaluated by the Scientific Committee and external reviewers.

NEW PARTNERSHIP - Supporting Practice Based Development and Research The Foundation of Nursing Studies (FoNS) and the General Nursing Council Trust
(GNCT) both share a commitment to advancing nursing practice and improving patient care; FoNS through its support of a range of practice development initiatives and GNCT through its research funding programme. Mindful of each others experience and shared values, the two organisations have formed a partnership to support a new and much needed programme which will enable and fund nurses to undertake practice based research with the explicit purpose of developing practice and improving patient care.

The Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) Programme

National budget of of £25 million annum. Inpidual projects can last up to 36 months with a maximum budget of £25,000

The Foundation of Nursing Studies, (FoNS)

SMALL PROJECTS PROGRAMME - The FoNS Small Projects Programme supports clinically based nurses, midwives and healthcare teams who want to develop healthcare practice to improve patient care in any healthcare setting across the UK. It is FoNS' intention to focus this programme primarily by supporting clinically based practitioners i.e. those working at the interface between healthcare practitioners and patients/service users. Grants continue to be readily available, but there are closing dates made at intervals during the year.
